Job summary

Maiden Erlegh Trust is seeking a committed Teaching Assistant (Nursery) at John Rankin School in Newbury to support high‑quality early years provision, helping children access learning, engage positively and make progress within the EYFS framework.

The post holder will work with the class lead and staff to support individuals and groups, indoors and outdoors, ensuring safeguarding, inclusion and a nurturing, safe nursery environment. Hours per week are 32.5, term time plus INSET days.

Qualifications

• A Level 3 Early Years qualification and NVQ2 in English/Maths required.
• Understanding of EYFS framework and child development.
• Commitment to safeguarding and inclusive practice.

Responsibilities

• Support delivery of learning in line with EYFS and Development Matters.
• Work with key worker groups to monitor progress and learning journeys.
• Support individuals and small groups to achieve outcomes; assist with SEND.
• Maintain resources and provide welfare, safety and inclusion.
