Job summary

Mayplace Primary School, part of The Primary First Trust, is seeking a dedicated Nursery Teaching Assistant to support our youngest learners from the new term.

You will work with the Nursery Teacher to deliver EYFS activities, support learning and wellbeing, and help create a safe, inclusive environment. The role is based at Mayplace Primary School and is funded for 39 weeks with term-time arrangements.

Qualifications

• A relevant childcare or education qualification (e.g. Level 2 / 3 in Early Years or equivalent).
• Experience working with children in the Early Years age range.
• Patience, warmth, and excellent communication skills.
• A team player who is reliable, flexible, and proactive.
• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Responsibilities

• Supporting the delivery of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum.
• Helping to plan and deliver engaging play-based activities.
• Supervising and supporting children during learning, play, and routines (including care needs such as toileting and feeding, where required).
• Observing and recording children's progress and development.
• Building positive relationships with children, parents, and carers.
• Maintaining a safe, welcoming, and inclusive classroom environment.
