Job summary

John Rankin Infant and Nursery School is seeking a committed Teaching Assistant (Nursery) to join our Early Years team on a permanent basis. You will work with the class lead to deliver high-quality provision, support learning, and promote safeguarding and wellbeing in a nurturing environment.

You will support individuals and groups indoors and outdoors, contribute to Learning Journeys, monitor progress, and help with SEND and outdoor learning.

Qualifications

• A Level 3 Early Years qualification is essential.
• NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics is required.
• Strong understanding of the EYFS Framework and child development.
• Calm, caring and positive approach with the ability to respond to children’s needs.

Responsibilities

• Support the delivery of engaging learning experiences in line with the EYFS Framework.
• Monitor progress and contribute to Learning Journeys.
• Support individuals and groups indoors and outdoors, including those with SEND.
• Promote safeguarding, inclusion and wellbeing at all times.
• Assist with first aid and administration of medicines as required.
• Undertake professional development and contribute to school life.
