Job summary

TeacherActive is seeking a Nursery Assistant for a private nursery in Drighlington. The role supports in the preschool room with flexible day-to-day duties, helping children learn through play and daily routines.

You will collaborate with the nursery team to create a safe, nurturing environment that fosters confidence and curiosity. The ideal candidate may have Level 2/3 Childcare or equivalent, with experience in Early Years and a positive, team-oriented mindset.

Qualifications

• Level 2 or 3 qualification in Childcare or equivalent is desirable, but not required.
• Experience working within an Early Years or nursery setting.
• Knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
• A caring, patient and enthusiastic approach.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Flexibility and a positive, can-do attitude.

Responsibilities

• Recruitment for a Nursery Assistant on a flexible day-to-day basis, supporting within the preschool room.
• Assist with daily routines and supervise play-based activities to support development.
• Work closely with the nursery team to provide high-quality care and learning experiences.

Salary: £12.17 - £14.75 per hour

The nursery is looking to recruit a Nursery Assistant to work on a flexible day-to-day basis, supporting within the preschool room. The successful Nursery Assistant will assist with daily routines, encourage children's development through play-based activities and work closely with the nursery team to provide high-quality care and learning experiences.

The successful Nursery Assistant will have:

• Level 2 or 3 qualification in Childcare or equivalent is desirable, but not required
• Experience working within an Early Years or nursery setting
• Knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)
• A caring, patient and enthusiastic approach
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Flexibility and a positive, can-do attitude
