The Role

We are looking for a passionate Nursery Assistant to help provide high-quality care and learning experiences for children in their early years. In this role, you will play a key part in supporting the development and well-being of children aged 0-5, helping to create a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Assist in the planning and delivery of age-appropriate activities and lessons that support children's development.
  2. Provide one-on-one and small group support to children, encouraging their social, emotional, and cognitive development.
  3. Support children with additional needs, adapting resources and activities to ensure all children are included.
  4. Assist in the daily care of children, including feeding, toileting, and helping with personal hygiene.
  5. Help maintain a clean, safe, and stimulating environment for children to learn and play.
  6. Encourage positive behaviour and help to manage children's behaviour in a supportive manner.
  7. Work with the team to assess children’s progress and support their development through play and structured activities.
  8. Supervise children during break times and other nursery activities.

Minimum Requirements

To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:
Experience: At least 1 year of experience working in a nursery or similar early years setting.
Qualifications: A Level 2 or Level 3 Childcare qualification (or equivalent) is desirable but not essential.

  • A genuine passion for working with young children and supporting their development.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with children, staff, and parents.
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Patience, adaptability, and a proactive approach to supporting children’s growth.

Location

This role is based in Nottingham, NG2, within a well-established nursery that offers a supportive and caring environment. The nursery is easily accessible by public transport.
