Job summary

Morgan Jones Recruitment is seeking a Nursery Assistant for a friendly Canterbury nursery in Kent. The role is temporary with potential for extension, start beginning of September, and pays £12.71-£14.00 per hour DOE.

You will support children's learning, development and wellbeing in a safe environment. The ideal candidate will hold Level 3 in Early Years or equivalent and an Enhanced DBS (Update Service preferred) or be willing to obtain one.

Qualifications

• Level 3 Early Years qualification or equivalent.
• Enhanced DBS certificate (Update Service preferred) or willingness to obtain one.
• Experience in nursery or early years setting.
• Good knowledge of EYFS framework and safeguarding procedures.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day care and education of children 0-5.
• Plan and deliver age-appropriate activities per EYFS.
• Create a safe, stimulating, inclusive environment.
• Observe and record children's development.
• Build positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.
• Follow safeguarding, health and safety, and nursery policies.
• Support children's personal care needs when required.

About the Role Do you have a current Enhanced DBS certificate with a Children's Barred List check? Do you hold a Level 3 Nursery or Early Years qualification (or equivalent)? We are currently recruiting for a dedicated and enthusiastic Nursery Assistant / Nursery Practitioner to join a friendly nursery setting in Canterbury, Kent. This temporary opportunity is ideal for an experienced Early Years professional who is passionate about supporting children's learning, development, and wellbeing in a safe and nurturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the day-to-day care and education of children aged 0-5 years.
• Assist in planning and delivering engaging, age-appropriate activities in line with the EYFS framework.
• Create and maintain a safe, stimulating, and inclusive environment.
• Observe and record children's development and progress.
• Build positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.
• Follow safeguarding, health and safety, and nursery policies at all times.
• Support children's personal care needs where required.
• Promote children's social, emotional, physical, and educational development.

Requirements

• Level 3 qualification in Early Years Childcare or equivalent (essential).
• Enhanced DBS Certificate (preferably on the Update Service) or willingness to obtain one.
• Previous experience working within a nursery or early years setting.
• Good knowledge of the EYFS framework and safeguarding procedures.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• A caring, reliable, and professional approach.
• Available to start at the beginning of September.
