Job summary

Pertemps Croydon is seeking a Nursery Assistant to support baby, toddler and preschool rooms across nurseries with flexible ad-hoc or short-term placements in the region.

Candidates should have Level 2 Early Years or at least six months nursery experience, a solid safeguarding mindset, and commitment to child development. DBS on update service is preferred. Weekly pay and holiday pay are provided.

A Nursery Assistant position is available in Bickley, paying £12.71 per hour on a temporary basis through Pertemps Croydon.

This flexible supply role suits practitioners seeking control over their weekly schedule while building consistent experience across various early years settings.

Work is offered ad-hoc or short-term, with potential for longer placements.

Duties involve supporting baby, toddler, and preschool rooms through play-based learning, supervision, routine care, and teamwork.

A solid grasp of safeguarding and child development is essential.

Candidates should hold a Level 2 Early Years qualification, or possess at least six months of nursery experience, to join this adaptable employment pool.

We are looking for experienced Early Years Practitioners to join our flexible supply pool. This is ideal for practitioners who want choice over the days they work while still gaining consistent experience across Early Years setting.

About the role

Flexible supply work across nurseries and early years rooms

Work offered on an ad-hoc or short-term basis, depending on your availability (can also lead to longer term roles)

Support across baby, toddler and preschool rooms as needed

General support duties include play-based learning, supervision, routine care and working as part of a team

Requirements

• Strong understanding of safeguarding, child development and age-appropriate practice
• Level 2, Early Years qualification is highly desirable or a minimum of 6 months experience within a nursery setting

• An Enhanced DBS on the update service
