The Surgery, Theatres, Anaesthetics and Endoscopy Care Group is looking for an inspirational nurse to be the leader for Surgical Ward 3 at the Princes Royal University Hospital part of King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.

Surgery Ward 3 is a female surgical ward caring for patients who are admitted via elective and non-elective surgical pathways. These specialities include gynaecology and general surgery.

Main duties of the job

  • To assume responsibility for the surgical ward and provide clinical leadership to the nursing team.
  • To lead and develop the nursing team in the care of surgical patients and assist in the development of clinical competencies.
  • To provide expert, holistic care of a high standard to both the patients and their relatives within King's College Hospital.
  • To act as a clinical resource within the ward and across the Care Group as necessary.
  • To be an effective clinical leader and role model with good delegation and supervisory abilities.
  • To be a safe and effective practitioner able to provide patients and relatives with high quality nursing care
  • To undertake managerial responsibilities ensuring staff management is safe, effective and within the assigned budget.
  • Strong involvement in recruitment and retention programmes.
  • To work alongside the multi-disciplinary team and ward triumvirate to enhance patient care and experience.
