Diabetes Specialist Nurse. Exciting new opportunity working across West Lothian

Role: Specialist Nurse
Therapy Area: Diabetes
Package:

Hours:

Full-time – part-time considered, minimum 4 days per week. Standard hours are 8.30-5.30, depending on travel to practice locations.

Overview:

Are you a nurse working in primary care passionate about delivering high-quality care to improve patient outcomes aligned with national guidelines?

This role involves working in the field of Diabetes, supporting healthcare professionals and patients in making informed treatment decisions. You will collaborate with the NHS in primary care to deliver a nursing program focused on best practices, excellent patient care, and improved outcomes.

As a specialist nurse advisor with a deep understanding of national treatment guidelines, you will work with patients and practices to ensure the delivery of up-to-date care.

Candidate Profile:

A patient-focused, NMC-registered nurse with experience in Diabetes. Previous nurse advisory experience is desirable, along with strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to delivering excellent results with a patient-centric approach.

The role covers a specific geographical area, requiring excellent planning and organizational skills, along with confident driving.

About the Client:

The client is a leading healthcare service provider focusing on outcomes in Diabetes, Respiratory, and Cardiovascular diseases.

Qualifications:
  • Diabetes Diploma or equivalent
  • Full UK Driving Licence
Experience Required:
  • At least 3 years post-registration experience managing diabetes in primary care
  • Confident in providing education, support, and advice to people with Type 2 Diabetes
  • Skills in optimizing oral hypoglycemics
  • IT literacy, including primary care systems
