Job summary

Assystem is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead Turbine Island design development, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and the supply chain to deliver robust engineering solutions within a highly regulated nuclear environment.

You will review designs, ensure supplier deliverables meet requirements, and participate in Design Reviews and HAZID/HAZOP sessions. A strong safety mindset and active SC clearance or eligibility are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or Higher National Diploma in engineering.
• Experience in nuclear, thermal power, or regulated sectors.
• Knowledge of safety policies, HAZOP and engineering standards.
• Engagement with internal and external stakeholders at multidisciplinary levels.
• SC security clearance or ability to obtain it.

Responsibilities

• Lead Turbine Island design development activities.
• Work with multidisciplinary teams and supply chain to deliver designs.
• Ensure supplier deliverables meet requirements and assess designs.
• Participate in Design Reviews and safety licensing activities.
• Support and liaise with safety team on regulatory compliance.
