Job summary

Assystem is an international energy transition enabler seeking a Mechanical Engineer to lead Turbine Island design development. You will collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams and the supply chain to deliver robust turbine island solutions within a nuclear or highly regulated setting.

Reporting to the Turbine Island Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will review and contribute to system design, manage interfaces, and participate in safety licensing activities to uphold regulatory requirements

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or Higher National Diploma in an engineering discipline.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to interact with internal and external stakeholders.
• Ability to identify and manage critical interfaces on major projects.

Responsibilities

• Acting as an Intelligent Customer, involved in checking supplier deliverables, including design against requirements.
• Development and checking with support of Senior Engineers of Process Flow Diagrams, Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams, Layout Drawings, Component Sizing Calculations, Component and Equipment Datasheets and Specifications, and other concept or detailed design related documents
• Development and checking with support of Senior Engineers of Optioneering Studies or Decision Record Files, Design Descriptions, Requirement Specifications, among other design development activities
• Application of Systems Engineering, including development and review of Functional and Design Requirements
• Integration of Turbine Island design into wider power plant
• Interface with wider Turbine Island team and stakeholders
• Attend Design Reviews and HAZID/HAZOP studies
• Participate in nuclear safety licensing, environmental planning /permitting, and other interface activities relevant to the Turbine Island scope
• Ensure adherence to H&S Policies and Quality Management System

Education
