Job summary

Westinghouse Electric Company in Preston is seeking a Sustainability Manager to lead the site’s sustainability programme. You will drive strategy, coordinate cross-functional delivery, and report progress to senior leadership while ensuring alignment with regulatory frameworks and corporate commitments. The role requires hands-on execution and strong stakeholder engagement across operations, engineering and safety teams.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering sustainability programmes in complex, regulated settings (nuclear, energy, manufacturing).
• Experience with carbon/net zero, climate risk, energy efficiency, circular economy, waste, biodiversity, and social impact.
• Hands-on, operational delivery with teams to realise real-world projects.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills across functions and levels.
• Experience developing strategies, targets and reporting mechanisms to track sustainability performance.
• Excellent project management across multiple workstreams.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver a site-level sustainability strategy aligned with corporate targets, regulatory obligations, and best practices.
• Integrate sustainability into daily operations with practical, achievable outcomes across teams.
• Lead or support key projects from feasibility through to implementation and monitoring.
• Provide expert sustainability guidance to site teams to support target achievement.
