Job summary

EDF Energy Limited is seeking a Construction Manager for the Hinkley Point C project in Bridgwater. You will plan, coordinate and manage construction activities ensuring safety, quality and timely delivery in line with project requirements.

Lead and supervise site teams, manage resources, and ensure compliance with HSE plans, risk assessments and permits. Strong safety leadership and regulatory knowledge are essential for success in this nuclear/regulated environment.

Qualifications

• SMSTS (Site Manager Safety Training Scheme) certificate.
• CSCS Supervisor certification.
• IOSH Managing Safely credential.
• NVQ Level 3 in Occupational Work Supervision.
• City and Guilds in Engineering.
• First Aid training qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and manage construction activities to ensure safe, efficient and compliant project delivery.
• Organise and deploy labour, equipment, materials and subcontractor resources to meet programme requirements.
• Maintain health, safety and quality standards on site.
• Lead and supervise construction teams with clear direction and accountability.
• Keep detailed records of site activities for reporting and compliance.
• Ensure all work is supported by Method Statements, Risk Assessments and Work Permits.
• Participate in risk assessments and HSE inspections promoting a positive safety culture.
• Attend and lead toolbox talks and project coordination meetings.
• Ensure workers receive required HSE training and that tools and equipment meet safety standards.
