Job summary

ALTEN is seeking a motivated Quality Engineer to join the PDO Quality Management team supporting the SZC project. You will ensure QA/QC arrangements are defined, deployed, and applied across all activities, with a focus on compliance with Nuclear Site Licence Conditions and continuous improvement across the organisation and its supply chain.

The role requires strong experience in nuclear quality, interfacing with project delivery teams, and excellent analytical and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Strong experience in quality management within major projects, ideally in the nuclear power sector.
• Solid understanding of QA and QC across engineering, procurement, manufacturing, construction, and commissioning.
• Experience on large, complex nuclear programmes with knowledge of compliance, governance, and regulatory expectations.
• Experience interfacing with project delivery teams and supply chain organisations.
• Excellent analytical skills with ability to interpret data, prepare reports, and make recommendations.
• Proactive, flexible, and able to work independently with strong organisational discipline.
• Native-level English (spoken and written).
• Operates at a senior Quality Engineer level with potential to progress to Quality Manager/Lead.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with quality management systems across all PDO activities.
• Support deployment of nuclear-grade QA/QC arrangements aligned with project standards.
• Develop and communicate quality requirements across SZC organisation and supply chain.
• Assist compliance with Nuclear Site Licence Conditions and discharge PDO responsibilities.
• Monitor, analyse, and report on quality performance, driving improvements.
• Collaborate with project teams and supply chain partners to apply quality arrangements.
• Contribute to strategic quality objectives aligned with SZC project goals.
