Job summary

ALTEN is seeking a Quality Control Manager for a high-regulation nuclear environment. You will lead the quality function across manufacturing and installation, ensuring compliance with project requirements and regulatory standards.

You will guide the Quality Control team, manage ITPs, and maintain Lifetime Quality Records while promoting a strong safety culture. You will act as the primary interface with clients and stakeholders, driving continuous improvement and ensuring Right First Time

Qualifications

• 5+ years in Quality Control or Quality Management
• Experience in UK nuclear sector or other highly regulated industry
• Strong manufacturing quality processes and QA principles
• Experience managing quality documentation and Lifetime Quality Records
• Knowledge of welding quality, welder qualifications and NDT activities
• Experience investigating non-conformances and root cause analysis
• Proven leadership and mentoring experience
• Excellent stakeholder management and client-facing communication
• Strong understanding of safety and regulatory requirements

Responsibilities

• Promote a Right First Time culture across manufacturing and installation activities
• Drive and maintain Nuclear Safety Culture behaviours throughout the organisation
• Manage and continuously improve Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs)
• Lead, mentor and develop the Quality Control team and ensure training
• Ensure procedures are implemented in line with the Business Management System
• Oversee welding quality activities, NDT, and associated records
• Monitor supplier and project quality performance for nuclear standards
• Serve as primary quality interface with clients and stakeholders
