Job summary

ALTEN is seeking a Mid-Level Mechanical Engineer to lead PTLS oversight on major nuclear infrastructure programmes. You will provide technical leadership across design, manufacturing and construction activities, ensuring safety, quality and regulatory compliance.

Based in Bristol with a three-day on-site requirement, the role emphasizes collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, stakeholder engagement, and effective issue resolution within project timescales.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or equivalent military background.
• Experience on nuclear projects and ability to oversee design, manufacturing, and construction.
• Familiarity with RCC-M, RCC-CW, Eurocodes and UK nuclear requirements.
• Experience enabling design integration and construction sequencing.
• Strong communication with contractors, suppliers and project stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical oversight and leadership across PTLS scope areas.
• Review and approve contractor technical deliverables for compliance.
• Support tender evaluations and supplier assessments technically.
• Resolve issues during manufacturing, installation and construction.
• Participate in inspections, design reviews, and governance activities.
• Promote lessons learned and replication strategies across programmes.
