Job summary

Mott MacDonald is recruiting a Project Controller for the Energy unit’s Nuclear, Defence and Civil division to strengthen cost control across multi-discipline teams. The role focuses on delivering accurate cost data, EAC forecasts, and robust change control in line with company procedures.

You will work with project managers and engineers to ensure safe, efficient delivery of complex nuclear projects, building trusted relationships with stakeholders and contributing to continuous improvement

Qualifications

• Experience in cost/project control within the nuclear industry or similar fields.
• Ability to communicate clearly with stakeholders at all levels.
• Experience mentoring junior team members and supporting process execution and work-sharing.
• Strong interpersonal and collaborative approach.
• Degree or equivalent in mathematics or a science-related field.
• Progress towards or achievement of accreditation with a recognised professional body (e.g., ACostE).

Responsibilities

• Build, maintain, and deliver accurate cost schedules from source data, ensuring high-quality results.
• Provide cost engineering support in change control, estimating, and planning.
• Analyze data to create accurate estimates at completion (EAC) forecasts.
• Prepare progress reports, including earned value analysis, and identify trends.
• Discuss variances with stakeholders and propose mitigation/recovery options.
• Collaborate with project managers and engineers to ensure successful delivery in the nuclear sector.
