Job summary

United Kingdom National Nuclear Laboratory is seeking a Mechanical Plant Engineer to assure safe, compliant maintenance of plant equipment and to support regulatory requirements. You will work with Design teams on mechanical changes, review equipment parameters and contribute to asset care programs.

Applicants should have mechanical engineering degree or equivalent, enjoy working under deadlines, and be capable of obtaining SC security clearance.

Qualifications

• Degree in mechanical discipline or HND equivalent.
• Able to obtain SC level security clearance.
• Experience in regulatory environment and maintenance in nuclear sector.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with site engineering procedures for operations and maintenance.
• Review mechanical changes with Design team and test procedures.
• Perform condition assessment and trending of plant equipment and improvements.
• Support Asset Care program with ageing plant assessments.
• Lead small scale infrastructure improvement projects.
• Conduct regular self-audits and EHSS&Q compliance.
• Share best practices across UKNNL laboratories.
