Job summary

United Kingdom National Nuclear Laboratory Limited (UKNNL) seeks a Mechanical Technical Support to bolster Infrastructure Compliance Engineering. The role focuses on engineering solutions, maintenance basis (TBoM), and safe, timely execution of tasks within a nuclear facility.

You will collaborate with Design and Capability teams, develop Safe Systems of Work, and participate in committees while pursuing required supervisory qualifications and security clearances.

Qualifications

• Degree Mechanical or HND; relevant experience may substitute.
• Strong communication with customers, suppliers and stakeholders.
• Conservative decision making under pressure.
• Knowledge of operational and maintenance requirements.
• Self-motivated with drive, energy and resilience.
• Able to interface technically with Design and Capability teams.
• Must become Safety Supervisor and PMP Manager.
• Need DV security clearance (UK residency ~10 years).
• Desirable: IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Develop pragmatic, fit-for-purpose engineering solutions cost-effectively.
• Support maintenance by applying the technical basis of maintenance (TBoM) process.
• Plan complex maintenance activities using equipment experience.
• Ensure tasks are clearly briefed, understood, and performed safely on schedule.
• Comply with safety, quality, risk, and security procedures.
• Ensure work delivery complies with site requirements and safety envelope.
• Assist in PMP’s for Compliance Engineering and present to committees.
• Support Mechanical Team Leader in installation, modifications and commissioning.
• Produce Safe Systems of Work for tasks identified by Team Leader.
• Attend forums to keep up with best practice and share learnings.
