Job summary

Vulcain Engineering UK seeks a Mechanical Engineer to manage pressure systems compliance and structural integrity for HPC projects. You will work with project teams, regulators, and suppliers to ensure nuclear regulatory expectations are met throughout the lifecycle.

The role requires a mechanical engineering degree and experience with RCC-M/ASME standards, plus strong stakeholder management and design-under-regulatory constraints capabilities.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Experience in highly regulated industries (Nuclear preferred).
• Strong knowledge of pressure systems and structural integrity requirements.

Responsibilities

• Manage pressure systems compliance and structural integrity for HPC scopes.
• Support implementation and maintenance of pressure compliance processes and standards.
• Ensure activities meet regulatory, contractual, and quality requirements.
• Provide technical expertise and compliance guidance to project teams.
• Interface between project managers, regulators, suppliers and engineering teams.
• Support decision-making and resolve pressure systems compliance issues.
• Monitor supplier delivery and conformity across the lifecycle.
• Maintain SQEP requirements and contribute to nuclear safety objectives.
• Oversee reactor and primary circuit equipment pressure systems (e.g., Main/Coolant Pumps, valves).
