Job summary

AECOM is seeking an Associate Mechanical Engineer – Nuclear Energy to lead a growing team and oversee projects from concept to commissioning. You will work with clients, partners and contractors to deliver robust mechanical designs and ensure compliance with nuclear industry standards.

This role offers an opportunity to shape multi-disciplinary solutions, develop business, and mentor engineers while driving delivery across the full project lifecycle in a hybrid UK environment.

Qualifications

• Masters or PhD in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• CEng status with MechE or equivalent.
• Experience leading design work in nuclear projects.
• Proven track record delivering projects end-to-end.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of engineers and act as primary client contact.
• Oversee projects from concept to commissioning, including design, procurement and installation.
• Guide engineering design tasks and ensure high-quality results.
• Drive business development within nuclear engineering.
• Deliver technical presentations and perform peer reviews of documents.
• Maintain strong client relationships and ensure needs are exceeded.
