Job summary

Highfield Professional Solutions Ltd seeks a Package Manager for a major nuclear programme at Culham, overseeing lifting equipment, procurement and engineering leadership. You will drive engineering delivery for BeHF Lifting Equipment and AGHS Future Services with on-site work four days per week.

The role requires nuclear sector experience, a degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing/Nuclear Engineering, and proven ability to manage multidisciplinary teams and procurement activities.

Qualifications

• Nuclear sector experience essential.
• Degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing/Nuclear Engineering.
• Progress toward professional registration (CEng/IEng).
• Experience delivering design, procurement and implementation.
• Package Manager/Project Engineer experience.
• Experience with lifting equipment or mechanical handling.
• Knowledge of LOLER and PUWER.
• Experience developing engineering specifications and scopes of work.
• Experience evaluating supplier proposals and deliverables.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering development of lifting solutions.
• Capture stakeholder, operational and engineering requirements.
• Develop technical specifications and scopes of work.
• Manage multidisciplinary engineering design activities.
• Coordinate interfaces between engineering, operations, safety case and stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with LOLER, PUWER, CDM, ALARP and UKAEA requirements.
• Develop procurement and equipment acquisition strategies.
• Assess purchase, lease, rental and alternative delivery options.
• Prepare technical procurement and tender documentation.
• Conduct technical evaluations of supplier proposals.
• Support supplier selection and contract award recommendations.
• Manage engineering risks, actions, assumptions and dependencies.
• Support installation, testing, commissioning, acceptance and handover.
• Act as intelligent customer for externally delivered engineering work.
