Job summary

EDF Energy is offering a 12-month placement in Emergency Preparedness at our Heysham site in Lancashire. The role includes hands‑on training through a customised programme, with a starting salary of 26,050 per year and on-site duty at Heysham 1 or Heysham 2.

You will contribute to emergency exercises, training events, and the administration of the Emergency Scheme, while learning from experts and supporting safety and performance improvements across the department.

Qualifications

• Strong technical and analytical skills.
• Good teamwork, a questioning attitude and effective communication skills.
• Interest in working in a highly regulated, safety‑conscious industry.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning and delivering emergency exercises and training events.
• Produce communications material to support Emergency Scheme administration.
• Attend internal and external emergency planning forums with authorities and emergency services.
• Support improvement projects related to emergency facilities and equipment.
