Job summary

EDF Energy seeks motivated students for a 12‑month Environmental Safety Group Industrial Placement at Heysham 1 & 2 power stations. You will gain hands-on experience, mentored by experts, and start a career in environmental safety within the energy sector.

You’ll receive customised training, work on real plant operations, and develop skills in teamwork, problem solving and using human performance tools. Eligibility requires a 2:2 in a relevant field and the right to work in the UK.

Qualifications

• Eligible if on track to achieve, or have achieved, a 2:2 undergraduate or postgraduate degree in Environmental Science, Maths, Physics, Chemistry or Engineering.
• Right to work in the UK is required; sponsorship may be possible but priority to those with the right to work.
• Security Vetting may require residency of the UK for at least three of the past five years.

Responsibilities

• Gain hands-on experience in the Environmental Safety Group at a nuclear power plant.
• Work with environmental and radiological professionals on oversight and compliance activities.
• Learn and apply academic knowledge to real environmental protection and radiological safety challenges in the energy industry.
