Vulcain Engineering UK invites applications for the role of Site Lead Engineer – Nuclear Decommissioning. This senior, hands-on position provides technical ownership of complex decommissioning activities at site level, with influence over strategy, sequencing and on-site execution.

The role requires a degree in engineering (or Chartered Engineer) and proven UK Nuclear experience, with delivery of engineered solutions and risk mitigation across decommissioning projects.

Qualifications

• Degree in an engineering discipline or Chartered Engineer status
• Proven experience delivering decommissioning or waste management solutions
• Ability to manage highly complex technical projects and mitigate risks
• Strong knowledge of design standards and compliance requirements
• Familiarity with CDM regulations and Health & Safety at Work Act 1974

Responsabilités

• Lead optioneering, feasibility studies and engineering decisions within site constraints
• Develop and deliver multi-phase decommissioning plans
• Produce flow diagrams and throughput models for decommissioning
• Plan and support Post-Operational Clean Out (POCO) activities
• Lead investigations and characterization planning
• Develop deplanting, size reduction and demolition plans
• Support hazard identification and controls in Hazard Register
• Prepare method statements and designer risk assessments
• Prepare for design/project gate reviews and PCI/CPP
• Coordinate with on-site health physics and waste stakeholders
