Job summary

Canford Law in Glasgow is seeking a newly qualified solicitor to join our Credit Hire team. You will manage your own caseload from pre-litigation through the litigation process in the Scottish courts, handling Credit Hire and RTA matters.

You will support clients to achieve successful outcomes through negotiation or court proceedings, with emphasis on attention to detail, compliance with court rules, and professional client care.

Qualifications

• Experience with recovery litigation in a busy commercial environment is essential.
• Ability to manage a busy caseload independently and meet timelines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong client care and professional conduct.
• Familiarity with Scottish civil court processes and rules.

Responsibilities

• Manage a personal caseload of Credit Hire and RTA litigation from pre-litigation to court proceedings.
• Progress cases quickly and efficiently in line with client and firm expectations.
• Provide clear, timely updates and professional advice to clients.
• Gather evidence, prepare pleadings, manage disclosure, and draft witness statements.
• Record activity in the case management system and meet deadlines.
• Ensure compliance with court rules, regulatory requirements and firm procedures.
