Canford Law in Glasgow is seeking a newly qualified Litigation Solicitor to join our growing Credit Hire team. You will manage your own caseload and support clients to achieve successful outcomes.

From pre-litigation through the Scottish courts, you will handle Credit Hire and RTA matters, appear as needed, and provide clear advice while keeping to service level agreements.

Qualifications

• Newly Qualified Solicitor with ability to handle Scottish civil court process.
• Excellent client care skills with professional and empathetic manner.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage a personal caseload of Credit Hire and RTA litigation from pre-litigation through to court.

Job description

Litigation Solicitor

Canford Law is seeking a NQ Litigation Solicitor to join our growing Credit Hire team in our Glasgow office.

We will consider applications from candidates who have some post-qualification experience of handling recovery litigation within a busy commercial environment and have had experience of appearing in Court.

In this role, you will manage your own caseload of Credit Hire and Road Traffic Accident (RTA) matters from pre-litigation through the litigation process in the Scottish courts. You will support and guide clients to achieve successful outcomes through negotiation or court proceedings where necessary.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a personal caseload of Credit Hire / RTA litigation matters.
• Ensuring that cases are progressed as quickly and efficiently as possible.
• Strong technical ability to include a thorough grasp of principles and case law.
• Working with our valued and long-standing clients to understand requirements and manage cases in line with service level agreements and best practice.
• Experience of appearances on Webex and in person in the Courts
• Prioritising work effectively and maximising efficiency in working practices
• Review prospects of success on an ongoing basis and provide clear, professional advice and regular updates to clients throughout their claim.
• Gather and review evidence, prepare pleadings, manage disclosure, and draft witness statements and productions.
• Use the firm’s case management system to record activity, manage deadlines and ensure timely progression of files.
• Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with relevant court rules, regulatory requirements and firm procedures.
• Identify issues and propose pragmatic, cost-effective solutions for clients and the business.
• Developing your technical and commercial knowledge via training or working practices.
