Job summary

Sellick Partnership is seeking a newly-qualified Construction Solicitor to join our Chester team. You will work across contentious and non-contentious matters, gaining exposure to a broad client base and high-quality work from day one.

You will collaborate with senior lawyers and partners in a supportive, partner-led environment, with genuine opportunities to develop a well-rounded practice in construction law within an established Chester office.

Qualifications

• Completed a construction seat during training contract.
• Experience across either contentious or non-contentious construction work.
• Strong drafting and analytical skills.
• Commercial and pragmatic approach to client advice.
• Good communication and client-handling skills.
• Ability to manage own workload within a wider team.
• Genuine interest in long-term construction law career.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to construction contracts and related documentation.
• Assist with JCT and standard-form contracts.
• Support construction disputes, adjudication and ADR.
• Address contractual issues, variations, delays and payment disputes.
• Provide advice on construction matters arising from development projects.
• Engage in both contentious and non-contentious construction work.
