Job summary

GSK Barnard Castle is seeking a Process Engineer (NPI) to lead hands-on engineering for new product introductions in Q Block, ensuring equipment, processes and systems are ready for safe, compliant manufacture.

You will collaborate with Operations, Quality, Validation, MSAT and Engineering to support scale-up, validation, change control, and continuous improvement, delivering reliable manufacturing readiness.

Qualifications

• Minimum of an HNC level qualification in an Engineering discipline.
• An industry recognised Engineering apprenticeship.
• Significant post-apprenticeship industry experience.
• Experience working within regulated (GxP) environments.
• Experience supporting NPI, technical transfer, validation, or operational readiness activities.
• Experience GMP change control management, including change assessment, implementation planning, documentation and closure.
• Strong collaboration skills with cross-functional teams within complex organisations.

Responsibilities

• Support NPI within Q Block, collaborating with Operations, Quality, Validation, MSAT and Engineering.
• Provide hands-on engineering support during product introduction, trials, validation and early-life manufacturing.
• Lead engineering activities aligned to NPI milestones, planning, prioritisation and risk communication.
• Escalate technical issues impacting equipment readiness or timelines.
• Support development, review and execution of GMP documentation and change control for NPI.
• Coordinate cross-functional implementation of engineering changes per GMP and validation standards.
• Collaborate to enable successful product launches, ramp-up and transition to routine manufacture.
• Capture and embed lessons learned into standard ways of working.
