Job summary

Honeywell Life Safety seeks an experienced Project Engineer with strong mechanical design expertise to own and drive New Product Introduction (NPI) projects from concept to manufacture.

The role requires leading mechanical inputs and coordinating with cross-functional teams while traveling up to 50% between Redditch and site in Italy. Strong communication and design for manufacturability are essential.

Qualifications

• Degree or HND in engineering with fire industry or high-volume manufacturing experience.
• Experience in design office and cross-functional project teams.
• Proven ability to develop new products from concept to manufacture.
• Proficient in project management and MS Office suite.
• Experience with ERP systems (SYSPRO or SAP).
• Strong CAD skills in PTC Pro/Engineer and AutoCAD.
• Knowledge of design for cost, manufacturability and tolerances.

Responsibilities

• Lead NPI projects for mechanical design from concept to production.
• Represent mechanical inputs and report progress to the team.
• Liaise with cross-functional members to keep schedules on track.
• Coordinate external 3rd party resources as needed.
• Drive mechanical design inputs through NPI to final release.
• Apply Six Sigma principles to ensure robust designs.
• Develop new component and assembly designs.
• Document design development decisions and evaluation records.
• Interface with QA to ensure components meet specifications.
