Join to apply for the NPD Technologist (Process) role at BBF Limited.

We are currently recruiting an NPD Technologist (Process) to be based at our Blackburn site on a full-time, permanent basis.

Who are we looking for?

Our NPD team is split into two areas: concept and process. We are looking for a talented NPD Technologist to join our process team; to help us deliver innovative new products. If you have a passion for baking and product development, we want you!

You will be part of a close-knit team that works together to provide excellent customer service. We are looking for someone who is proactive, energetic, and enthusiastic about their work.

A self-starter, you will show energy and enthusiasm for the products in which you work, and you will thrive under pressure.

The ideal candidate will have experience within a food manufacturing business, preferably a bakery or equivalent knowledge/experience. A food science-related qualification is preferred.

What you'll be doing:

For a Process-focused Technologist:

1. NPD process from concept handover to product launch, ensuring smooth transition and scale-up in production.
2. Conduct factory trials and pre-production runs to ensure product consistency and quality and successful first productions.
3. Conduct necessary testing including organoleptic reviews to ensure product quality and safety.
4. Work to critical path to ensure all deadlines are met.
5. Ensure the output of all trials are fully documented with adherence to food safety, quality standards and customer requirements.
6. Provide information to support the creation of customer and factory specifications which lead to the production of accurate specifications and appropriate product labelling information.
7. Support at relevant NPD meetings.
8. Ensure all NPD-related paperwork and samples are processed and available on time and in full as per the requirements of the customer.
9. Engage and work collaboratively with the cross-functional teams.
10. Maintain strong relationships with both internal stakeholders and retail partners, ensuring clear communication at all stages.
