Job description

NPD TECHNOLOGIST REQUIRED FOR A FOOD MANUFACTURER IN TELFORD, SHROPSHIRE!

Do you have previous NPD experience within a Food Manufacturing business, and are you looking for a permanent role on day shifts?

We are working with a long-standing food manufacturer in Telford seeking an NPD Technologist. The role is based on a standard Monday to Friday schedule, 8.30am - 5.00pm (39.5 hours per week).

The starting salary is just under £31,000 per annum, with potential increases to over £34,500 and then just under £39,500 as you progress.

The ideal candidate will have a degree in food science, food technology, manufacturing management, or business management, and some experience in an NPD role within the food manufacturing industry.

The recruitment process involves a two-stage interview, beginning with on-site numeracy and literacy assessments in Telford, Shropshire.

Key Responsibilities

1. Manage the full NPD cycle, acting as the main contact for customers and ensuring key milestones are achieved.
2. Work collaboratively with Engineering, Operations, and Technical teams to keep projects on track and assess risks.
3. Develop and maintain packaging and product specifications in partnership with suppliers and customers to ensure factory readiness.
4. Plan and oversee factory trials and product launches, including those involving customers and suppliers.
5. Communicate effectively to keep all stakeholders informed throughout the project lifecycle.

Candidate Requirements

1. A 2:1 degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Manufacturing Management, or Business Management.
2. Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks proactively.
3. Excellent communication skills, comfortable working in multi-skilled teams and under pressure.
4. A detail-oriented approach, with the ability to plan clearly and focus on deliverables.
5. A passion for the food industry and a desire to work in a fast-moving consumer goods environment.
