Job summary

Fintellect Recruitment Limited is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to establish a new Manchester presence for a growing SME lender. The role focuses on originating opportunities and building long-term relationships across the North West.

You will leverage an existing SME network and introducers to identify funding needs, structure bespoke solutions, and drive deal flow from initial contact to completion.

Qualifications

• 3+ years' experience in SME/direct lending.
• Established network in Manchester/the North West.
• Strong relationships with SMEs and business owners.
• Proven ability to originate lending opportunities.
• Strong credit, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to structure deals and build credibility with SME borrowers.
• Commercial awareness and creativity in funding structures.
• Self-starting, resilient and entrepreneurial mindset.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Genuine appetite to build something rather than just manage an area.

Responsibilities

• Originate new SME lending opportunities across the North West.
• Develop long-term relationships with SMEs, owners and introducers.
• Build a strong network and add value beyond the first deal.
• Position funding solutions tailored to each business.
• Maintain deal flow from initial outreach to closing.
