Job summary

Future_find is recruiting an Investment Director (or Senior Investment Manager) to own the North West debt origination and execution, backing owner-managed and mid-market businesses with flexible funding. You will lead deals end-to-end, build a proprietary pipeline, and act as the regional face for the firm across introducers, advisers and lenders.

Future_find is partnering with a well-backed, specialist capital provider to appoint an Investment Director (or Senior Investment Manager) into a newly created "North West" team. The business is well-established nationally and institutionally backed. It is now investing in its Northern presence with this real “flag in the ground” appointment.

This is a genuine opportunity for an experienced originator to take real ownership within a close-knit, entrepreneurial business. You’d be backing ambitious, owner-managed and lower-mid-market businesses with flexible, non-dilutive funding - leading deals end-to-end and having the autonomy and visibility to genuinely shape your own patch rather than being a cog in a larger machine.

The remit blends origination and execution - you'll own the full funnel. You’ll build and convert your own proprietary pipeline - across both the regional introducer community and direct with owner-managers - while also leading transactions through structuring, credit and completion, with a clear route to grow as the business’s profile in the North.

The role

• Originate proprietary and intermediated deal flow across the North West and wider North, developing relationships across owner-managers, advisers, debt advisory, accountancy and the regional deal ecosystem.
• Structure flexible funding solutions; senior, stretched-senior, unitranche and junior / structured facilities - typically supporting acquisition finance, MBO / MBI, buy-and-build, growth and refinancing (c.£2m–£20m).
• Lead deals end-to-end: from first meeting and indicative structuring through due diligence, credit / investment paper, documentation and completion.
• Act as the firm’s origination presence on the ground in the North, representing it across the regional market.
• Work closely with credit, portfolio and execution colleagues; prepare and present investment papers.
• Support and develop junior members of the team.

We’d like to hear from you if you’re

• Experienced in SME or lower-mid-market debt / structured capital, whether from a debt fund or private credit house, a bank or fund leveraged & acquisition finance team, or a debt advisory / corporate finance background looking to move principal-side.
• A proven originator - you’ve self-sourced and led your own deals, with an established network across the Northern (ideally North West) deal community.
• Strong on debt structuring across senior, stretched-senior, unitranche and junior facilities, and commercially astute on credit.
• Credible and personable with owner-managed and entrepreneurial businesses.
• A relevant qualification (ACA / ACCA / CFA) is welcome, but a strong origination and funding track record matters more.
• Based in or around the North West (Leeds / Yorkshire with a broad cross-Pennine network also welcome), and happy to be out across the region building relationships.
• Operating around Director / senior Investment Manager level (or a strong Associate Director ready to step up), with the appetite to originate and own your patch.
