Job summary

MLR Associates is seeking an experienced Nokia MSS/MGW Resident Engineer to support a telecom operator's circuit-switched core network in the United Kingdom or Ireland. You will act as the on-site technical authority for Nokia MSS and MGW platforms, ensuring network stability and successful delivery of transformation projects.

The role covers DX200, ATCA-based deployments, system upgrades, migrations and mentoring local operations teams, with strict adherence to SLAs and governance.

Qualifications

• Extensive hands-on experience with Nokia MSS and MGW platforms.
• Proven record with DX200 and ATCA-based telecom environments.
• Deep knowledge of circuit-switched core networks.
• Ability to prepare HLD/LLD and MOP documentation.
• Strong fault management and troubleshooting in telecom cores.
• Experience delivering software upgrades and migrations.
• Experience working with operators and operations teams.
• Based in the United Kingdom or Ireland.
• Contract role: 12 months, outside IR35.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the on-site technical authority for Nokia MSS and MGW.
• Design, implement, maintain, and optimize circuit-switched core networks.
• Produce HLD, LLD, Datafill, and MOP documentation.
• Support Nokia MSS/MGW platforms including DX200 and ATCA.
• Perform software upgrades, migrations, and feature deployments.
• Lead troubleshooting and root-cause analysis of voice core incidents.
• Support network modernization and transformation programs.
• Coordinate with Nokia Global Support and engineering teams.
• Mentor local NOC and engineering staff.
• Ensure SLAs and procedures are followed.
• Support acceptance testing and implementation of changes.
