Job summary

Weightmans is recruiting a file handler for our litigation team based primarily in the Liverpool office. The role focuses on managing a modest NIHL claims caseload while supporting Partners and Associates with more complex asbestos-related work.

You will draft strategy reports, undertake legal research, prepare pleadings and attend conferences, client meetings and court hearings as required. A flexible, team-oriented approach and strong organisational skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Ideally NIHL claims experience; training for complex claims provided.
• Flexible approach to work and ability to adapt to different tasks.
• Ability to meet deadlines / targets, prioritise and manage a caseload.
• Commercial, solution-driven and client-focused mindset.
• Strong legal and analytical skills with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of litigated NIHL claims effectively and efficiently.
• Assist Partners and Associates with complex and high-value caseloads.
• Draft full strategy reports and advices.
• Undertake legal research and investigations.
• Draft pleadings.
• Attend conferences, court and client meetings.
• Communicate with clients, counsel and other parties.
• Participate in business development and alignment to sector groups.
• Complete client and internal MI procedures and meet KPIs.
