Job summary

CareTech is seeking Residential Childcare Practitioners for night shifts in Stair, Mauchline. You will support young people with daily routines, school prep, and home-life activities while providing nurturing, trauma-informed care in a warm, homely environment.

Successful applicants will have a full UK driving licence, a commitment to ongoing development, and strong communication skills to collaborate with staff and professionals for positive outcomes.

Qualifications

• Desire to develop skills and knowledge in care.
• Full UK driving licence is essential.
• Open to ongoing development with support from the team.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

Responsibilities

• Support young people with daily routines, school/college prep and homework readiness.
• Contribute to care planning, risk assessments and accurate records.
• Foster independence, life skills and positive behaviour through therapeutic approaches.
• Engage in team meetings, training and reflective practice sessions.
• Plan and participate in activities and trips with the group.
