Job summary

Spark of Genius in Stair, Mauchline seeks a Residential Childcare Practitioner to support young people with daily routines and therapeutic care. A full UK driving licence is required; sponsorship is not offered.

The role involves building relationships, contributing to care planning, and engaging in activities and outings with the team. You will work in a supportive, child-centred environment, with opportunities to develop your skills and progress within the company.

Qualifications

• Warm, patient and a great listener with a focus on achieving outcomes for others.
• Evidence of caring experience or prior work in care settings is preferred.
• Willingness to work towards SSSC qualifications and develop your skills.

Responsibilities

• Support young people with daily routines (school/college mornings, homework, meals) and plan activities.
• Provide nurturing, therapeutic care to children and young people who have experienced trauma.
• Build trusting relationships and work with colleagues to deliver high-quality, child-centred care.
• Maintain accurate records and contribute to care planning and risk assessments.
• Be part of a warm, homely environment and assist with light housekeeping.
• Participate in team meetings, training and reflective practice sessions.
• Plan and join activities like trips to the park, movie nights or creative projects.
