Job summary

Noble Foods Home of the Happy Egg Co. in Leicester is seeking a multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer for nights to keep our automated production lines running efficiently.

You will respond to breakdowns, perform preventative maintenance, install and commission new equipment, and drive improvements in OEE, machine performance and reliability. You will work 19:00-07:00 on a 4 on 4 off pattern, reporting to the Engineering Team Leader and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure safety,

Qualifications

• Multi-skilled engineer with Electrical and/or Mechanical qualifications (City & Guilds / NVQ Level 3+)
• Recognised apprenticeship (highly desirable)
• Experience in an automated production environment (preferred)
• Experience in FMCG, food, or brewery sectors (preferred)
• Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive mindset
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities

Responsibilities

• Respond to breakdowns quickly and minimise downtime
• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and servicing
• Support installation and commissioning of new equipment
• Drive improvements in OEE, machine performance and reliability

About the Role

Reporting to the Engineering Team Leader, you’ll be based at our Added Value site in Leicester, playing a critical role in maintaining and improving our automated production environment.

You’ll respond to breakdowns, deliver preventative maintenance, and collaborate with teams across the site to drive performance, efficiency, and continuous improvement.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Responding quickly to breakdowns and minimising downtime
• Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and servicing
• Supporting installation and commissioning of new equipment
• Driving improvements in OEE, machine performance, and reliability
• Working cross-functionally to enhance production standards
• Maintaining accurate documentation and supporting audit readiness
• Identifying inefficiencies and implementing practical solutions
• Championing Health & Safety, GMP, and site hygiene standards

What We’re Looking For
