Job summary

Guild Care at Caer Gwent is seeking a Night Care Assistant to support residents overnight. You’ll help with personal care, monitor wellbeing, and respond to needs while maintaining a calm, welcoming environment.

No previous care experience is required as full training is provided. You must be able to work night shifts and commute to Worthing, West Sussex. The role emphasizes compassion and teamwork with supportive leadership.

Job description

As a Night Care Assistant, you'll be there to support residents during the quieter hours, helping them feel comfortable and reassured while maintaining a calm and welcoming environment. Your responsibilities will include:

• Supporting residents with personal care and wellbeing needs during the night
• Carrying out regular checks and responding when residents need assistance
• Helping residents settle and providing reassurance when needed
• Keeping the home clean, tidy, and comfortable
• Working closely with colleagues to ensure residents receive the best possible care

Some nights will be busy, others quieter, but every shift plays an important part in helping residents feel secure and supported.

Desired criteria

• Ability to work flexible night shifts (24 to 48 hours per week)
• Experience working as a Care Assistant or in a similar care setting
• Experience working with elderly residents
• Possess empathy, patience, and good communication skills, Empathy

Experience working with vulnerable peopleProviding personal care

Pay and benefits

• £14.34 per hour (Sunday to Friday nights)
• £15.03 per hour (Saturday nights), High staffing levels - we overstaff by 10% to help ensure staff and residents are well supported
