Job summary

Aberdeen City Council is seeking a part-time role at Aberdeen City Music School to provide high-quality care for young people living in the hall of residence. The post requires PVG membership eligibility and relevant qualifications in social care or youth work.

You will work as part of a team to keep records, communicate effectively, and advocate for vulnerable young people. Flexible working arrangements are on offer; the council promotes equality and inclusive employment.

Qualifications

• Experience of working with children or young people is essential.
• Willingness to obtain PVG membership where required.
• SSSC/GTC registration or willingness to become a member.
• PVG membership costs may be recovered from the first full month’s salary for eligible roles.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality care to boarders in a safe, caring environment.
• Maintain clear, accurate records and reports.
• Communicate effectively with young people, families and other stakeholders.
• Advocate on behalf of young people to ensure their views are heard.
• Produce high-quality written records and reports.
• Demonstrate good ICT skills in daily tasks.
