Veterinary Specialists Scotland (VSS) Livingston is seeking a Night Veterinary Surgeon (Primary Care) to oversee hospitalised patients and handle overnight emergencies within a supported, specialist-led team.

The role offers a 7 nights on / 14 nights off rota (7pm–7am) with access to advanced facilities, veterinary colleagues and ongoing CPD to develop overnight practice in a busy referral environment.

Qualifications

• Night role in a specialist referral hospital.
• Overnight inpatient care and management of emergency presentations.
• Confident decision-making with access to specialist support.

Responsibilities

• Assess and manage emergency presentations during the night.
• Monitor hospitalised patients and adapt treatment plans as required.
• Make clinical decisions with the nursing team and liaise with Specialists.
• Communicate clearly with clients regarding their pets’ care.
