Menzies Distribution Solutions in Broxbourne is seeking an experienced Transport Supervisor to lead route planning, maximise vehicle capacity, and ensure on-time deliveries.

You will manage Site Planners, liaise with customers on delays, and drive compliance with Working Time Directive, tachograph rules, and transport legislation. The role emphasizes optimisation, supplier coordination, and safety across the network.

Qualifications

• Experience in a busy transport office.
• Knowledge of drivers hours, tachographs and WTD legislation.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• IT literate with a good education.
• Commercial understanding of transport operations.
• Knowledge of transport systems.

Responsibilities

• Plan deliveries using site software to meet delivery windows.
• Liaise with Site Planners on delays and issues with delivery.
• Coordinate backhaul lanes with depots and third parties to maximise fleet utilisation.
• Source local agency drivers and sub-contractors as required.
• Ensure loads meet safety standards and driver briefing/debriefing.
• Ensure compliance with Working Time Directive and tachograph rules.
• Communicate routes with other Menzies Depots and maintain KPI records.
