We’re currently recruiting for a Transport Supervisor on the Night Shift (21:30 – 06:00) at our site in Sherburn in Elmet, Yorkshire. As part of this busy transport operation on our British Gypsum contract, you’ll ensure the timely and safe dispatch of drivers.

Pay, benefits, and more:

We’re offering a salary of up to £33,500 per annum. Additionally, we provide 25 days holiday (plus bank holidays), with options to buy more days. You’ll have access to high street discounts, a Salary sacrifice car scheme, cycle to work scheme, workplace pension, and other perks.

What you’ll do on a typical day:

• Support the Transport Manager in ensuring compliance and legal obligations, focusing on safety.
• Manage and execute the night plan to complete all deliveries and collections.
• Follow all processes and procedures to maintain a safe and efficient environment.
• Train staff and ensure adherence to company procedures.
• Dispatch drivers at their scheduled times to meet contract SLAs.
• Manage VOR / Defect processes and keep logs up to date.
• Arrange breakdowns for vehicles or trailers.
• Serve as the initial site response in case of incidents, liaising with British Gypsum and the Transport Manager.

What you need to succeed at XPO:

• Experience working in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to adapt quickly.
• Previous supervisory experience and team development within a complex transport setting.
• Proven transport experience with a good understanding of compliance and driver hours.
• Computer literacy for email communication, driver dispatching, and daily handovers.
• Team-building skills.
• Experience in a time-critical environment.
• Experience working with C+E drivers is beneficial.
