Job summary

Culina is seeking a Transport Shift Manager to lead the transport shift in our Chilled & Fresh division. You will coach and develop the team while ensuring health, safety and legal compliance, with 4 on/4 off night shifts and routine KPI reporting.

You will manage staff, coordinate with planners, and drive continuous improvement while maintaining cost and service standards. Join Culina as part of a nationwide logistics network with strong sustainability goals.

Qualifications

• Experience in transport operations within FMCG or shared user environment.
• Prior supervisory experience in an FMCG setting.
• Strong planning and organisational skills with numeracy.
• Excellent negotiating skills and ability to influence.
• Demonstrated leadership and ability to motivate a team.
• Effective verbal and written communication at all levels.
• Proven teamwork and ability to set clear objectives.
• Adaptable to change within a evolving organisation.
• Commercially focused with a customer service mindset.
• Strong problem-solving abilities under pressure.
• National and International CPC qualification – desirable.

Responsibilities

• Manage Depot Transport staff to execute traffic plans and meet service levels.
• Ensure fleet is on the road and declared to assist Planning Team.
• Motivate and develop the team through training and development plans.
• Ensure staff are trained and have correct equipment.
• Ensure transport team complies with statutes/regulations.
• Communicate with 3rd party hauliers on defects for drop trailers.
• Oversee annual MOTs and service intervals for fleet equipment.
• Monitor, audit and control suppliers.
• Support department communications with KPI publications.
• Drive service improvements with customers and other areas of the business.
• Generate ideas for staff and operational changes to drive improvement.
