Job summary

Culina is looking for a Shift Manager to lead 24/7 Transport operations at our site. You will supervise Transport Supervisors, support the Transport Manager, and ensure costs stay in line with budgets while delivering on customer service.

You’ll coordinate planning, driver resourcing, and regulatory compliance, while developing the team and driving continuous improvement in a dynamic logistics environment.

Qualifications

• Experience supervising transport staff in a busy environment.
• Understanding of transport operations and cost control.
• Planning and numeracy skills essential.
• Strong negotiation and leadership abilities.
• Excellent communication at all levels.
• CPC qualification is desirable.
• Willingness to participate in training courses.

Responsibilities

• Manage Depot Transport staff to execute traffic plans and meet service levels.
• Reduce non-contract maintenance and vehicle damage.
• Keep fleet on the road and declared to enable planning.
• Plan resource and agency driver shifts weekly.
• Manage driver holidays to meet customer requirements.
• Motivate and develop the team; provide training.
• Ensure staff are trained and equipped.
• Investigate incidents and accidents; follow EOA process.
• Monitor and approve driver clocking on/off with Kronos.
• Ensure compliance with regulations and site procedures.
• Ensure annual MOTs and service intervals on fleet.
• Attend monthly customer review meetings when Transport Manager absent.
• Support service improvements with customers.
• Generate ideas for staff/operational changes for improvements.
• Maintain secure and safe environment.
• Conduct monthly site audits following Culina Group policy.
