Job summary

Culina Group in Sittingbourne is seeking a Transport Supervisor for the Chilled & Fresh division to lead the night traffic operations team and driver group, planning company and third-party resources to keep services on time and cost effective.

The role covers ensuring drivers operate within hours rules and health & safety regs, coordinating with colleagues to improve efficiency, and maintaining high standards across shift patterns (4 on 3 off, 19:00–07:00).

Qualifications

• LGV driving licence desirable.
• Experience of fleet maintenance.
• Knowledge and experience of FMCG environment.
• Current CPC would be advantageous.
• Experience of vehicle servicing and maintenance within a similar environment.
• Good knowledge of vehicle mechanics.
• Thoroughness/attention to detail.
• Able to work effectively in a team.

Responsibilities

• Plan effective utilisation of drivers, vehicles, sub-contractors and agency drivers across all sites.
• Communicate effectively with drivers and sub-contractors about job requirements.
• Ensure compliance with drivers hours regulations.
• Monitor RDC performances and overall transport efficiency.
• Manage balance between own fleet and subcontracted resources.
• Support Transport Shift Manager in meetings or customer reviews.
• Ensure vehicle and trailer services are completed on time.
• Oversee ESP (Electronic Service Planning) completed daily and trips resourced.
• Coordinate with management to discuss efficiencies and practices.
