Job summary

XPO Logistics in Widnes is seeking an experienced Transport Operations Manager to lead the night transport operation for Tesco Widnes. You will work Sunday to Thursday, 23:00-07:00, overseeing a large team and ensuring service excellence for the customer.

Role includes managing a night depot, ensuring compliance, planning and dispatch oversight, and developing colleagues. The position offers the autonomy to drive performance in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Experience leading night-time depot operations.
• Ability to manage large teams and multiple shift staff.
• Knowledge of health & safety and compliance requirements.
• Proven track record in delivering service levels for logistics operations.

Responsibilities

• Lead the night transport operation Sunday-Thursday 23:00-07:00.
• Manage 14 office colleagues and 210 volume colleagues plus subcontractors.
• Monitor planning and dispatch to protect Customer Service targets.
• Ensure legal compliance and track reporting deadlines for Finance and Compliance.
• Promote a health & safety culture and develop the team.
• Foster engagement and two-way communication between transport and planning teams.
