Job summary

Gist Limited is recruiting a Night Transport Coordinator for the Portbury Transport team. This permanent Night Shift role will lead a night operation, coordinating drivers and live transport activity, ensuring deliveries run safely, efficiently and on schedule.

Based in Portbury with planned relocation to Avonmouth in 2027, the role combines operational leadership with hands-on logistics support, reporting to the Transport Shift Manager and maintaining office systems through the night.

Qualifications

• Experience in a transport, logistics or distribution operation.
• Background in transport coordination or planning roles.
• Ability to communicate with drivers and make operational decisions.
• Supervisory or team leadership experience is desirable.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the night transport operation to dispatch vehicles and drivers safely and on time.
• Act as first point of contact for drivers, provide support and resolve issues.
• Brief and debrief drivers, communicate operational information accurately.
• Monitor live routes, respond to delays and support service recovery.
• Support the Shift Manager with day-to-day transport operation.
• Manage driver allocation and ensure resources are used effectively.
• Support return-to-work conversations and driver supervision.
• Maintain legal compliance including Operator Licence requirements and transport docs.
• Complete payroll administration and transport office tasks on time.
• Collaborate with colleagues across Transport, Warehouse and Planning.
