Job summary

YMCA Robin Hood Group is seeking a Night-Time Children's Residential Care Worker to join our overnight team in Selby area. You will remain awake to look after children aged 5-18, driving to our Selby home and staying on site through night shifts.

You’ll receive training, a funded Level 4 qualification in Residential Childcare, regular supervision, and clear career progression as part of our commitment to safeguarding and nurturing trauma-informed care.

Qualifications

• Resilience to support children through tough days.
• Calm, consistent manner to respond to challenging behaviours.
• Compassion to listen, support, and build trust with children.
• Confidence to handle challenges and advocate for children.
• Flexibility to work a rota including long days, evenings, sleep-ins and weekends.
• A driving license – full UK licence is essential.
• An enhanced DBS with child barred list check – if not on update service, we will get you a new DBS.

Responsibilities

• Remain awake overnight ensuring children are looked after.
• Work as part of a team to ensure the children are looked after 24/7.
• Support the daytime team by creating a safe, loving, nurturing home.
• Provide therapeutic care to help them navigate past trauma.
